Our Goal
Through much of the year 2009, the Longs Grove "Strategic Planning Team" met to pray out and seek God's direction for our ministries here in the community of Monroe. Through that process we developed the Longs Grove Strategic Plan, the center-piece of which is the simple and direct mission statement we believe God has led us to, which can be pulled from the Scripture passage found on the right.
Love God
Centered around the spirit of our mission statement (and that "Great Commandment" passage of Scripture), we worked to develop 3 key areas of focus which we wanted all of our ministries here at Longs Grove to have emphasis on as areas of growth. These 3 areas were called KRA's (or Key Result Areas). We believe that these 3 areas give us some more clearly defined direction as we seek to live out our mission statement. The 3 areas which we identified were PRAYER, OUTREACH and SMALL GROUPS. For each of these areas, we worked through what's called a "KRA/Goals" Worksheet! The purpose of this worksheet was to take an honest look at some of our strengths and weaknesses in these areas, as well as to set some goal for the future! These 3 areas have since been applied to every area of the ministry of Longs Grove as focal points to each individual ministry. This has allowed us to move forward in unity, with a clear picture of what we feel God has led us toward in our ministry to both the community and to each other, as well as in the development of our relationships with God.
