Our Pastor
Matt Larkin has been the pastor at Longs Grove since 2008. He came to Longs Grove after 7 years in youth ministry in Maine and Virginia. He graduated from Trinity College, majoring in Pastoral ministry and is currently working on a Master's Degree at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He began his career in church ministry by serving as the Youth Director at Highland Cliff Advent Christian Church in Windham, Maine. While there, he met his wife, Beth Ann, and they were married in 2004. Since moving to the Charlotte area, Beth has been working at Advent Christian General Conference, currently serving in the Department of Nurture.
Matt grew up in Auburn, Maine, where he attended the Auburn Advent Christian Church (now Turner St. Community Church). As a middle school student, he became a follower of Christ through the relationship of a strong Christian mentor. Since then, various mentoring relationships have shaped and molded his life in many ways. Through those relationships, he has come to deeply believe that this kind of relational ministry must be a centerpiece of any healthy church. This has also driven Matt's passion for small group ministry.
